Terms
Last updated 3 September 2026
These are the terms for using Buenpro, operated by Compass Tech Labs LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company. Creating an account or using the service means you accept them. They are written to be read. Where a sentence could have been vague, it has been made specific instead — including the parts about who is responsible for what, which are the parts most worth understanding before you begin.
Buenpro turns a menu you already have into a page a diner can read on a phone, at an address you can share, with a console for keeping it current. That is the whole of it. It is not a website builder, an ordering system, a booking system, a payment processor or a point of sale, and it does not try to be.
Buenpro is a channel. You decide what to publish, you enter it, and the service transmits and displays it to the people you point at it. We do not review, verify, approve or edit what you publish, and we are not the author or publisher of it. Every judgement about what appears on your page — every price, every description, every claim about an ingredient — is yours, made by you, before it is published.
You need an account, and you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. You are agreeing on behalf of your business, and you are telling us you are authorised to do so.
Everything done from your account is treated as done by you. There are no passwords in this product, so the email address or phone number that signs in is the key to it — keeping control of that is yours to do, and anything done by somebody who has it is your responsibility.
You can invite other people. What each can do depends on the role you give them. You are responsible for who you invite and for everything they do.
Your menus, prices, photographs and words remain yours. We claim no ownership of any of it and we do not sell it.
To run the service we need your permission to store it, process it and show it — to publish your page to the people you point at it, to make the copies and sizes a web page needs, and to send your menu text to our translation provider when you turn a language on. That permission covers running Buenpro and nothing else. It ends when you delete the content.
You are telling us that you own what you upload or have the right to use it, and that publishing it breaks nobody else’s rights. Photographs you did not take and did not license are the usual way this goes wrong.
You are solely responsible for everything you put into Buenpro and everything that happens because of it. That includes, without limiting it:
We do not check any of it. We could not, and we do not hold ourselves out as doing so.
This is the part worth reading twice. Compass Tech Labs LLC is not responsible for any outcome of your use of Buenpro, or of anyone’s use of a page you publish. Not to you, and not to anybody else.
That includes, and is not limited to: a diner who relies on something on your page; an allergic reaction, illness or injury; an order, booking or payment made anywhere your page pointed somebody; a price shown wrongly or read wrongly; a dispute with a customer, a supplier, a delivery company, a landlord or a regulator; lost custom, lost revenue, lost goodwill or lost data; anything a third party does with information you chose to publish; and anything that follows from your page being available, unavailable, correct or incorrect.
You use the service at your own risk, and you accept that risk when you begin. If something goes wrong between you and a diner, a customer, a supplier or an authority, it is between you and them. We are not a party to it.
Do not use Buenpro to publish anything unlawful, deceptive or infringing, to impersonate a business that is not yours, or to break into, probe, overload or interfere with the service. Do not resell access to it as if it were your own product, and do not use it to build a competing one.
We may suspend or close an account doing any of those things, immediately and without refund. Where we can tell you first, we will.
There is a free plan that stays free, and paid plans billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Prices are the ones shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Taxes may be added where they apply.
Paid plans start with a trial that asks for no card. When the trial ends without one, the account moves to the free plan — nothing is charged and nothing is taken away except the paid features.
You can cancel at any time from your own account, without writing to anybody. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the current period running to its end. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it — and if something has clearly gone wrong you should ask us anyway.
If we change a price we will tell account holders before it takes effect, and the change never applies to a period already paid for.
Your published page stays online. Not at the end of a trial, not when a card fails, not when you cancel — it stays up. It may be in a customer’s bio or printed on a window, and taking it down over money is not something this service will do to you.
What happens instead is that the paid features switch off and the Buenpro mark comes back on the page. Your content is not deleted, and turning it all on again is one click.
If a payment fails, we retry for two weeks and tell you on the first day, the seventh and the fourteenth before anything changes.
If you connect a domain you own, we will only ever ask you to ADD DNS records — never to remove one, and never to move your nameservers. Anything asking you to do either of those in our name is not from us.
The domain is yours to keep registered, paid for and configured. We are not responsible for a domain that lapses, a registrar that makes a mistake, DNS that is edited incorrectly, or a certificate that fails to issue because of how a record was set. If any of that happens, your page keeps working at its buenpro.menu address.
Buenpro runs on services from other companies, and your page can point at others still — a booking system, a delivery app, your own ordering page, a map. We do not control any of them and we are not responsible for what they do, what they charge, what they collect, whether they are available, or what happens to you or your diners while using them.
A link on your page is a link you chose to add. What happens after somebody follows it is between them and whoever is on the other end.
We work to keep the service up and quick, and we do not promise it will never be down, never lose anything, or never make a mistake. Maintenance, a failure at a company we build on, an outage at your registrar, or something nobody foresaw can interrupt it.
The menu reader is very good and it is not perfect. It produces a draft for you to check, which is why nothing it writes is published until you approve it. Translations are the same: a strong first pass that you can correct by hand. Approving something is you taking responsibility for it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement. No advice or information you get from us, spoken or written, creates any warranty.
To the fullest extent the law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts allows, Compass Tech Labs LLC will not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, lost custom, lost goodwill, lost or corrupted data, or cost of substitute services — however caused, under any theory of liability, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute or otherwise, and even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability to you for all claims taken together, of every kind and however arising, will not exceed the greater of the fees you actually paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.
These limits apply even if a remedy in these terms is found to have failed its essential purpose. They are a considered allocation of risk between us, they are part of what makes the service available at this price, and the service would not be offered on these terms without them.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is so, the exclusions and limits above apply to the greatest extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Compass Tech Labs LLC, its members, officers, employees and contractors from any claim, demand, investigation, loss, liability, damage, fine, penalty, cost or expense — including reasonable legal fees — brought by anyone and arising out of or connected with:
You will do this at your own expense. We may take over the defence of any such claim with counsel of our choosing, at your cost, and you will not settle anything that admits fault on our part or imposes any obligation on us without our written agreement. This section survives the end of your account.
If something goes wrong, write to us first. Most things end there, and both of us would rather they did.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us will be brought only in the state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and each of us agrees to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
To the extent the law allows, each of us waives any right to a jury trial. Claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding.
Any claim arising out of these terms or the service must be brought within one year of when it arose. After that it is permanently barred.
You can close your account whenever you like. When you do, the page comes down immediately and everything is permanently deleted 30 days later, with a link during that window to undo it.
We may suspend or end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where we are required to. If we stop offering the service altogether, we will give account holders reasonable notice and time to export.
The sections on your content, what is yours to answer for, outcomes, what we do not promise, the limit of what we owe you, indemnity and disputes all survive the end of your account.
Neither of us is liable for a failure to perform caused by something outside our reasonable control — including an outage at a provider we depend on, a network or power failure, an act of government, a natural event, or a labour dispute.
These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service and replace anything said before. If a clause is found unenforceable, it is narrowed only as far as needed and the rest stays in force. Not enforcing something once does not waive it. You may not transfer this agreement without our written agreement; we may transfer it to a successor of our business. Nothing here creates a partnership, employment or agency between us, and there are no third-party beneficiaries.
If we change these terms materially, we will tell account holders by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is how the new version is accepted.
